Amy Thielen: Brown Bag Lunch Author Series at Brainerd Public Library
July 17, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
On Monday, July 17, Chef Amy Thielen will speak at the Brainerd Public Library about her new memoir, “Give a Girl a Knife,” a coming-of-age tale that follows a young Minnesota woman to the hottest restaurant kitchens in New York City and back home again. Thielen worked for celebrated chefs Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Daniel Boulud, is the host of the cooking show “Heartland Table” on the Food Network, and her first cookbook, “New Midwestern Table,” won the James Beard Book Award for American Cooking. She now lives on a farm outside Park Rapids with her family.
The Friends of the Brainerd Public Library are once again bringing acclaimed authors to the Brainerd Public Library to speak about their latest work and the craft of writing. Held on Mondays at noon in June and July 2017, these events give local book lovers a chance to connect with some of the best-loved and award-winning authors from around the Midwest.
All presentations begin at noon at the Brainerd Public Library, and attendees are welcome to bring a packed lunch or just enjoy the light refreshments provided. These presentations are sponsored by the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library through their volunteer and fundraising efforts, and are free of charge to the public. No registration is needed.
